What is an EPC?

• An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) shows how energy efficient a property is, helping buyers, tenants, and owners understand running costs and ways to improve efficiency.

• EPCs are a legal requirement when selling or buying a home, and landlords must also have a valid EPC before renting out a property.

• A typical appointment lasts around 45–60 minutes, where there will be a full in-person assessment of your property.

• Before arriving, as much pre-surveying work as possible will take place to save time during the visit.

• After the appointment, the report will be finalised and lodged with the relevant accredited bodies (almost always on the same day), so you receive your EPC quickly.

• EPCs are public documents and can be viewed on the official Find an energy certificate GOV.UK service, ensuring full transparency and compliance with government regulations.
